Mats Sels was again the star of the penalty shootout for Nottingham Forest as they reached the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time in 34 years.
The Belgian goalkeeper saved penalties from Jack Hinshelwood and Diego Gomez as Forest won 4-3 on penalties against Brighton after a goalless draw at the Amex Stadium.
Sels had previously made key saves in penalty shoot-outs against Exeter and Ipswich in the previous two rounds.
This time he had Forest celebrating as if it were 1991, the last time they reached the semi-finals under Brian Clough.
Stuart Pearce was a member of that team and provided commentary on the match on Amex Radio, looking in excellent shape after recent fitness problems.
Pearce knew what a penalty shootout was and would probably have enjoyed the climax had it not been for the 120 minutes that preceded it.
Brighton controlled the ball for much of the game but failed to capitalise on it and Forest were happy to allow it.
