Russell and Antonelli are likely to retain their seats at Mercedes.

Speculation over Max Verstappen's future in July regarding his surprise move to Mercedes caused confusion among supporters of Russell and Antonelli.

However, Verstappen confirmed ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix late last month that he would remain with Red Bull. Verstappen's contract with Red Bull runs until 2028, but reportedly includes performance-based clauses.

With Verstappen's move to Mercedes now off the table until at least 2026, it's likely that Russell and Antonelli will be given new contracts. However, it's unlikely that any announcement will be made before the next Formula 1 race at Zandvoort.
