Goals : Romanchenko (34) — Buyalsky (26, 53), Yarmolenko (70).

For the second time in history, a representative of the UPL and a team from the first league met in the fight for the cup trophy. In 2019, there was no sensation in the final: Shakhtar easily defeated Inhulets from Petrovy (4:0).
This time, Dynamo, realizing that they had almost their last chance to qualify for the European Cups, worked hard.

After a bunch of wasted chances, Buyalskyi scored a goal for Chernihiv in the 26th minute. But the joy of the “white-blues” was short-lived. In the 34th minute, the central defender of the nominal hosts Romanchenko headed the ball into the net after a cross from a free kick, stunning the entire footballing Ukraine, – 1:1.

The fairy tale of the boys from Chernihiv (except, of course, Dynamo's Yarmolenko) ended after the break. Another well-aimed shot by Buyalsky and Yarmolenko's 22nd goal of the tournament put everything in its place – 1:3.

Dynamo won the trophy for the first time since 2021 and became the 14th winner of the Ukrainian Cup (Shakhtar has 15 victories in the tournament), earning a ticket to the Europa League qualification. The team of Ihor Kostiuk, who won the first trophy at the helm of the “white-blue”, starts in the 1st round of qualification, where its rivals may be “Žilina” (Slovakia), “Vojvodina” (Serbia), “Universitat Cluj” (Romania), “Aluminij” (Slovenia), “Derry City” (Ireland) and “Vestri” (Iceland).

Previously, “FACTS” reported that Shakhtar became the Ukrainian football champion.
