Event organizers confirmed to US media on Monday that Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the Cincinnati Open for the second time in a row.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion withdrew from the US Open pre-season event after back-to-back semi-final exits at the French Open and Wimbledon, both to world No. 1 Jannik Sinner.
Djokovic also missed the tournament in Cincinnati last year as the defending champion, shortly after his singles victory at the Paris Olympics.
The US Open tennis championship will be held from August 24 to September 7 in New York.
