Former Brazilian futsal player Felipe Alex, 32, who played for Russian club Norilsk Nickel, died suddenly at Ukhta airport, Sport24 reports. Earlier in the Russian Federation, two football players from his team died in their sleep.

The Brazilian felt unwell at the airport before the team's flight to Moscow after the first semi-final match of the Russian Cup with Ukhta (2:2). According to unofficial data, the Brazilian fell and hit his head on the tiles on the floor. The ambulance doctors who arrived to help did everything they could: they performed resuscitation measures, used a defibrillator. But Felipe Alex died.
“We will always remember, Alex!” – the club's message on social networks says. – IFC “Norilsk Nickel” with deep sadness announces that our club player Alex Felipe suddenly passed away. The tragedy occurred at the airport in the city of Ukhta after the semi-final match of the Russian Cup.
Shortly before departure, Alex fainted. The team doctor, the airport paramedic, and the ambulance crew called to the scene did everything possible, but the efforts of the doctors were unable to save our player's life.
“All employees, players and staff of IFC Norilsk Nickel are shocked and devastated by this irreparable loss. We express our deepest condolences to Alex's family, friends and loved ones.”

Before moving to Russia, where Felipe Alex won the aggressor country's cup, he played in his homeland, as well as in Spain and Portugal, winning the main trophy of the Champions League with Sporting in 2019. The Brazilian is survived by his wife and two young children.
