Nottingham Forest match winner Callum Hudson-Odoi has revealed he is not paying attention to the Premier League table despite his 1-0 win over Manchester City.
Hudson-Odoi secured a crucial win for Forest against the reigning champions to boost their chances of Champions League qualification.
They are five points clear of City and, with 10 games remaining, have every chance of qualifying for Europe's premier tournament next season.
However, Hudson-Odoi noted: “We look at each game individually, we don't look at the scoreboard.
“We just focus on each game, try to get as many points as we can and play to the best of our ability.”
“I hope we can stay where we are; it's important to keep moving forward.”
The former Chelsea striker was the hero of the match, scoring the winner in the 82nd minute when City goalkeeper Ederson found himself at the near post.
“It was an amazing game, very difficult, but I'm happy we won, happy with the goal, just a fantastic day,” he added in an interview with BBC Radio Nottingham.
“We have to keep working hard every day and every next game we have to be confident in our readiness and keep winning and getting points.”
“The team worked hard, they deserved this win.”
City suffered their ninth defeat of the season, their highest since 2019/20, and they are now looking back as they are pursued by the likes of Chelsea, Brighton, Newcastle and Aston Villa.
Defender Ruben Dias has said his goal is to reach the Champions League for the 15th time in a row.
On the club's official website, he said: “We will not speculate on 'ifs' and 'maybes'. We know what we want and the goal is clear.
“We need to put in maximum effort, work hard and do our best.”
“We're not used to this kind of workload every week, but this is a new challenge for us.”
“But we need to complete this task.”
