Bundee Aki has been nominated for the Player of the Championship award, having played a vital role in Ireland retaining the Six Nations title for 2024.
Aki, who also impressed in last year’s Rugby World Cup, which saw him nominated for the 2023 Player of the Year award, was nominated alongside players from England, Scotland and Italy.
The Connacht centre’s fellow nominees are England’s Ben Earl, Italy’s Tommaso Menoncello and Scotland’s Duhan Van Der Merwe.
Ireland claimed back-to-back titles with a 17-13 win over Scotland at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, ending the tournament five points in the clear of second-placed France.
The home win came a week after a shock 23-22 loss to England at Twickenham, ending Andy Farrell’s squad’s pursuit of back-to-back Grand Slams.
Aki ended this year’s Six Nations with the most carry metres (380) and was joint-top for line breaks (four) among his fellow centres.
The winner will be chosen by the public, with voting open until 11pm on Sunday, March 24th.
