The legendary Japanese, despite the opponent's desperate resistance, successfully defended his sixth “absolute” title. However, he failed to knock out Picasso Inoue, nicknamed the Monster, while confidently defeating the challenger by unanimous decision of the judges – 119:109, 120:108, 117:111.

According to the final punch statistics, Inoue surpassed Picasso in every way. He has more accurate punches overall (328 vs. 170), complete dominance in forehand work (161 vs. 63), and a clear advantage in power punches (167 vs. 107).

By the way, one of the first to congratulate his undefeated colleague right in the ring was Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, who confirmed that he plans to fight next with 40-year-old American Deontay Wilder.

We should add that Naoya Inoue made his professional debut in 2012 and became a world champion in his sixth fight, winning the WBC title in the first lightweight division (up to 49 kg). Later, the Japanese became the champion in the second lightweight division (up to 52.2 kg), as well as the absolute champion in the lightweight division (up to 53.5 kg) and the second lightweight division (up to 55.3 kg).

Previously, “FACTS” reported that absolute world champion Naoya Inoue missed a knockdown, but responded to his opponent with more than enough.
