Skibbereen School Community 2-10
Loreto Cavan College 3-6
With just seconds remaining in this thrilling Lidl All-Ireland Senior A Post-Primary Schools final, it was clear that extra time would be needed to decide a winner at UPMC Nowlan Park in Kilkenny.
However, Meabh Collins had other ideas and scored a vital, decisive point for Skibbereen Community School.
Thus, for the first time since 2022, the silverware returned to Cork, where St Mary's High School of Midleton triumphed.
The Munster champions, who had been playing with the wind in the first half, had a seven-point lead at the break. Ibha O'Donovan opened the scoring for the Cork side two minutes from time with a free-kick. Loreto took the lead and Kate Fegan made the difference when Katie O'Meara converted a free-kick and Ruby Gilmartin raised a second white flag.
Skibbereen took advantage of Loreto's scoring opportunities, with O'Donovan adding two and Collins providing the assist to put them two points ahead.
Cavan High's Ellie Brady responded with a point from the other end of the pitch but a flurry of play from Kate Carey and O'Donovan brought on Hannah Sheehy to restore Skibbereen's two-point lead in the 14th minute.
Loreto took the lead again and not without a bit of luck as Katie O'Meara's long-range effort went just under the crossbar and past the Skibbereen goalkeeper.
But the potential winners immediately hit back, converting O'Donovan's free-kick and Meabh Collins scoring after Carey intercepted Loreto's effort.
Two minutes before the break Collins extended Skibbereen's lead with a point. The Cork side had better luck in the final attack of the half when Hannah Sheehy's point found the back of the net to leave her side seven points ahead at the break, 2-7 to 1-3.
Brady wasted no time in scoring from a throw-in after the restart, but Carey responded quickly two minutes later. Loreto, now with the wind at their backs, grabbed the ball, sending O'Meara through on the penalty spot. Trying to break through the Skibbereen defence, Kate Fegan intercepted the ball and Kayla Bartley slotted it home to leave just three points between the teams.
Eleven minutes into the second half, O'Meara's free-kick reduced the deficit, but Skibbereen continued to gather momentum and Carey sent the ball home again. Loreto pressed for touch again and this time Brady intercepted the ball and O'Meara levelled with a palmed goal with seven minutes remaining.
Skibbereen dropped back to form a tight defence as Loreto looked for the winning goal in the dying minutes.
With less than a minute remaining, a superb Skibbereen counter-attack was completed with Collins confidently slotting home the winning goal.
All Ireland Senior B Final
Eureka High School (Kells) 0-9
Mount St Michael (Claremorris) 1-11
Mayo's Mount Saint Michael's won the Lidl All-Ireland Senior B title for the first time since 2010 after a comfortable victory over Eureka High School in Kells.
Caolinn Walsh's first-half goal proved decisive for the victors, but Eureka's high score also cost them a lot of money and overshadowed a very good performance from the Meath side.
Due to the strong wind, the game was sluggish and neither team was able to gain the upper hand.
Eureka had plenty of possession and used their advantages well but fell behind when Mount St Michael's Aisling Cummins saw her attempt at goal from Caragh Reilly Brady intercepted by Caolinn Walsh, who scored the decisive goal in the 12th minute.
