Forward Kraishe spent his entire career at one club, scoring 188 goals and providing 74 assists in 344 official matches for Dynamo between 1964 and 1977. He became the champion of the GDR five times, won the national cup, and also won the top scorer's race of the East German Oberliga four times. In 1970 and 1973, the best football player of the GDR-1973 was nominated for the European “Golden Ball”.

The striker played 50 matches for the GDR national team and scored 22 goals, becoming a bronze medalist at the 1972 Olympics and one of the authors of the sensational sensation at the 1974 World Cup, when his team beat the future world champions from West Germany with Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Müller in the squad. Incidentally, after that match, Kraisher was involved in a scandal.

“After our 1-0 victory over West Germany, we were flying from Hamburg to Düsseldorf,” recalled Hans-Jürgen Kreischer . “A gentleman was sitting next to me and we started talking. He asked me who would be the world champions. I assumed it would be the West German team, after which my neighbor promised me five bottles of whiskey if that happened.”

As a result, the footballer won the bet, and a few weeks later he was summoned to the Dynamo office, where… several Stasi (GDR secret police) officers were waiting for him. “They demanded an explanation about the Black and White whiskey that had been delivered. I had no idea that the then West German Finance Minister Hans Appel was on board the plane,” Kraishe added.

By the way, in 1976 the GDR team won gold medals at the Olympic Games. But Kraishe was not on the team. The footballer immediately guessed that the non-call to the national team was a consequence of the story with the minister. But in 2004 Kraishe found confirmation in his own case. According to him, in the Stasi dossier there is this phrase: “An athlete cannot represent East Germany at the Olympic Games.”

After his career ended, the forward worked as a coach for the youth team of his native club, where he helped develop stars such as Ulf Kirsten and Matthias Sammer.

In memory of Hans-Jürgen Krausch, Dynamo Dresden players will wear mourning armbands for Saturday's second Bundesliga match against Hertha.

Previously, “FACTS” reported that the legend of the GDR national team, Olympic champion Dixie Derner, had died.
