The State Department is issuing a limited-run U.S. passport to observe America’s 250th jubilee, and the material will highlight President Donald Trump’s picture and endorsement on the inside cover, according to confirmation from both a White House official and a source with knowledge of the situation.
As indicated by mock-ups shared on social media by the State Department, the interior page will display Trump’s representation alongside a stylized depiction of the Declaration of Independence.

Based on current strategies, the unique passport will be exclusively obtainable through the Washington Passport Agency, while other offices and the online renewal system will continue to distribute the common design, a State Department representative informed ABC News.
However, the representative mentioned that during the availability of the limited-edition passport, individuals securing a passport via the Washington Passport Agency will only be provided with that specific version — they lack the choice to decline it.
Presently, the Washington Passport Agency extends its services solely via scheduled appointments. To secure an appointment, applicants are required to furnish proof of forthcoming international travel within a fortnight and consent to remit an additional $60 for expedited processing.
A departmental representative conveyed that the passport would be attainable without any supplementary costs. It remains unclear if the Trump administration might also lift the prerequisite of presenting proof of imminent international travel, as well as the potential timeline for these modifications to take effect.
In its announcement of the exclusive passport, a White House spokesperson communicated via statement that "President Trump’s novel patriotic passport design introduces another exceptional means for Americans to partake in the memorable festivities surrounding America’s 250th birthday."
"Throughout our momentous semiquincentennial observance, President Trump remains a steadfast leader in rejuvenating national pride and patriotism," the spokesperson stated.
In March, the Treasury Department unveiled the addition of Trump’s autograph to future U.S. paper money, marking him as the first incumbent president to have their name featured on currency.
The Treasury declared that this decision also honored the U.S.’s 250th anniversary.
The announcement proceeded efforts to originate two coins bearing Trump's portrait, a $1 coin and a distinctive 24-karat commemorative gold coin.
President Calvin Coolidge stands as the sole sitting president to have had a coin showcasing his image.
Federal legislation dictates that no living president can grace U.S. currency, though the administration has asserted that this constraint does not extend to coins.
