President Donald Trump is continuing to make his mark on the White House with a new ballroom project estimated at $200 million.

Construction is slated to commence in September and will be financed by Trump alongside unnamed benefactors, as stated by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Leavitt unveiled the initiative during her press conference on Thursday, presenting visual representations of the anticipated outcome. She mentioned it would be finished "long before" the conclusion of Trump’s term.

"We are excited to declare that the construction of the new White House ballroom will commence. For 150 years, presidents, administrations, and White House personnel have yearned for a spacious event area within the White House grounds capable of accommodating significantly more guests than is currently possible," she informed reporters.

"The White House is among the most stunning and historic structures globally, yet it currently lacks the capability to host significant events honoring international leaders without the need to erect a large and unattractive tent roughly 100 yards away from the main entrance," she remarked.

This marks the latest alteration Trump is implementing at the White House. Presently, the renowned Rose Garden is also undergoing renovations, with pavement replacing the grass. Furthermore, he financed the installation of two flagpoles, each standing 88 feet tall, on the North and South Lawns of the White House.

Trump has also redecorated the Oval Office, incorporating numerous gold accents, including on picture frames and furnishings surrounding the fireplace.

The artist renderings of the upcoming ballroom indicate it will similarly feature gold detailing, reminiscent of the decor found in the ballroom at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Florida.

Trump has consistently expressed his desire to create a ballroom at the White House similar to the one at Mar-a-Lago, which he referred to during his first term as his "Winter White House."

At his Turnberry golf resort in Scotland this past weekend, Trump told European Council President Ursula von der Leyen, "You know, we just constructed this ballroom, and we are in the process of building a magnificent ballroom at the White House."

Trump later discussed the project on Thursday during a signing of an executive order in the Roosevelt Room, stating they enlisted "the finest architects and engineers" for its construction and it will be "top-tier."

"I excel at building things. And we will complete it swiftly and punctually. It will be stunning," he remarked.

"I have always maintained that I would address the ballroom issue because it is necessary. So we will leave it as a remarkable legacy project, and I believe it will be exceptional," Trump added.
