Former One Direction member Liam Payne left behind a fortune of £24.3 million (€28.6 million) after his death without leaving a will.
Cheryl Tweedy, his former partner and the mother of their son Bear, is the administrator of his estate, meaning she is legally responsible for his finances, property and personal belongings.
Singer Payne died aged 31 in October last year after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina.
Court documents indicate that music industry lawyer Richard Mark Bray has also been appointed as an administrator.
Cheryl Tweedy, 41, a former member of Girls Aloud, could leave her fortune in trust for Bear, as under British law, if there is no will, an inheritance passes first to the spouse and then to the children.
According to management records, his gross value is £28,594,888 and his net value, which is the amount after debts and expenses are paid, is £24,279,728.
An autopsy report stated that Payne's cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries and “internal and external bleeding” after falling from a third-floor balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires.
In February, a court in Argentina dropped criminal negligence charges against three of the five people charged in connection with Payne's death.
At the Brit Awards in March, he was remembered with a video montage of him with his family, as well as a clip from The X Factor and a performance by One Direction, who won seven awards at the music awards before splitting.
Following a hiatus from the band, Payne released his debut solo album LP1 in December 2019, which included the tracks “Polaroid” featuring Lennon Stella and Jonas Blue, “Strip That Down” featuring Quavo, and “For You” featuring Rita Ora.
From 2016 to 2018, Tweedy was in a tumultuous relationship with Payne.
Before finding success with One Direction, Payne auditioned for The X Factor in 2008, where Tweedy was a judge.
