The National Anti-corruption Agency, reacting to an inquiry from ZN.UA, conveyed that in mid-September, following several online publications and a personal appeal to the agency, Yuriy Kasyanov was indeed questioned regarding a case initiated in early 2025.

Concerning Kasyanov’s plea for security as a witness, to determine the realities surrounding a perceived threat to safety and well-being, NABU investigators, via the leadership of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, have commenced the process of calling the witness for supplementary investigative procedures.

“Based on the outcomes, a determination will be reached regarding subsequent actions, notably, an appeal to the military defender might be launched, and if deemed necessary, various other steps may be undertaken in compliance with the regulations,” the NABU press office mentioned.

On Sunday morning, October 12, Yuriy Kasyanov communicated that he is a whistleblower and pivotal witness in the National Anti-Corruption Bureau’s inquiry involving the Fire Point enterprise. He designated this as the primary basis for the disbandment of the unit he established. The military figure further requested defense for himself and his family from NABU under the witness scheme and appended that his condition is deteriorating, yet “they will not permit him to exit alive.”

Previously, the media indicated that Timur Mindich is a co-proprietor of the Fire Point venture. This was highlighted by Parliamentarian Yaroslav Zheleznyak, along with Yuriy Kasyanov.

Concurrently, the company’s lead designer, Denis Shtilerman, in a conversation with ZN.UA “Fire Point. A discourse on drones, missiles, and Mindich” expressed that Timur Mindich exerts no influence and is not a co-owner of the Fire Point corporation, which fabricates FP-1 combat drones and Flamingo missiles. He mentioned that Mindich verbalized an inclination to become a stakeholder in the company, but this was turned down.

Stillerman further asserted that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau isn’t probing his firm; the matter concerns functionaries of the Ministry of Defence and the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection.

We will recall, on October 3, Yuri Kasyanov announced the disestablishment of the strike drone group he originated within the 10th mobile detachment of the State Border Service of Ukraine. At that moment, he suggested that the unit underwent liquidation by the head of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Serhiy Deineko, acting on instructions from the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak. The serviceman regards this resolution as retaliation for voicing concerns about the Ukrainian government’s inconsistency on matters relating to conflict and corruption. Notably, Yuriy Kasyanov composed numerous articles for ZN.UA, where he examined the efficacy of governmental determinations throughout wartime focusing on the expansion of Ukrainian drones.
