The artist Kid Rock and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth took a flight in AH-64 Apache assault helicopters over the vicinity of Washington, D.C., this Monday, only a few weeks following the Army facing examination for permitting the same kind of aircraft to linger close to the pro-Trump entertainer’s dwelling.
According to an American official, both helicopters are assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, the same unit whose aircraft initially circled close to Kid Rock’s home near Nashville, where the singer subsequently shared a video of himself gesturing and saluting the Apaches while they were stationary near his property.

“This morning, I joined my acquaintance @KidRock – along with some of our exceptional @USArmy Apache pilots – for a ride. (More information to come!),” Hegseth communicated via a statement on social media. “Kid Rock is an ardent supporter and immense admirer of our service members.”
Following the Apaches’ visit to the residence of Kid Rock, whose given name is Robert James Ritchie, in March, the pilots were initially placed on suspension. Hegseth acted promptly, declaring at the time, “No penalty. No inquiry. Continue, patriots."
An American official possessing knowledge of the matter stated that the flight on Monday will be utilized to create a promotional video for the Defense Department.
ABC News has contacted Kid Rock seeking a statement.
The overturning of the suspension signified a peculiar circumvention of the military’s established command structure and investigative procedure. Hegseth has consistently bypassed conventional Pentagon protocols, much of which is focused on the Army, where he has encountered internal disagreements with Army Secretary Dan Driscoll.

Driscoll, who garners significant approval in national security circles and on Capitol Hill, has been long considered a likely replacement should Hegseth be dismissed or leave the Department of Defense. Hegseth also recently prevented the advancements of four Army colonels to brigadier general and dismissed the service’s leading officer, Gen. Randy George, without any official justification.
Kid Rock, the musician and politically conservative advocate, has risen to prominence as one of President Donald Trump’s most prominent celebrity allies, frequently participating in campaign gatherings and other political affairs.
While military flyovers are not uncommon, they are usually arranged for significant public occasions, such as sports competitions, air shows, or major ceremonial meetings, instead of being performed in close proximity to private homes.
“The visit of today offered Kid Rock the chance to express his gratitude to service members, emphasize the professionalism of the individuals supporting the mission, and recognize their continuous dedication in tribute to our nation,” conveyed Sean Parnell, a Department of Defense spokesperson, in a statement.
