Mike Donilon, a senior adviser to former President Joe Biden, participated in a closed-door interview on Thursday as part of the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into the former president’s mental acuity during his tenure.
Donilon, one of Biden’s longest-serving and closest advisors, addressed the attorneys from the Republican-led committee as its chairman, Republican Rep. James Comer, continues to scrutinize Biden.
No committee members were present for Donilon’s interview on Thursday, which started just after 10 a.m. When it concluded approximately six hours later, Donilon exited without responding to inquiries from journalists.

Donilon is the most recent in a series of former Biden officials summoned by the committee to address concerns regarding the former president’s mental capabilities while he held office. On Wednesday, Steve Ricchetti, who acted as a counselor for Biden, responded to questions.
The previous week, former Chief of Staff Ron Klain collaborated with the committee for several hours.
Nevertheless, several other aides have chosen not to cooperate with the committee and have invoked the Fifth Amendment, including Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the former physician to Joe Biden, and Annie Tomasini, who acted as deputy chief of staff to Biden.

Biden himself dismissed claims of cognitive decline during an appearance on ABC’s “The View” in early May.
“They are incorrect. There’s nothing to support that,” Biden stated at the time.
