Police say a boy pulled from the River Thames is in a stable condition as the search continues for a missing girl.
Search operations have been launched after two children found themselves in danger in the water off Royal Terrace Pier in Gravesend on Friday afternoon.
A force spokesman said the Port of London Authority contacted Kent Police at 1.46pm on Friday over “concerns for the welfare of two children who had fallen into the river” on Royal Pier Road, Gravesend.
Emergency services were called and a search began, during which the boy was pulled from the water.
He was taken to a local medical facility where his condition was “not described as life-threatening,” police said.
Kent Police Marine and Coastguard resumed search operations on the water and riverbank on Saturday.
