Andrew Tate is facing a lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend, who has accused the celebrity of sexual assault and physical abuse.
Lawyers for Tate, who has also faced sexual assault charges in Britain, have denied the allegations.
In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles, model Brianna Stern detailed alleged physical and emotional abuse that occurred throughout their 10-month relationship.
She also requested a restraining order against Tate.
In a statement, Tate's lawyer, Joseph McBride, said his client “categorically denies” the allegations and accused Ms. Stern of “blatant extortion.”
“We are prepared to confidently defend Andrew in court where the truth will reveal this baseless scheme,” he said.
“Rather than seek a private solution, Ms. Stern chose to air her false allegations in the press, demonstrating her true intentions: money and attention, not justice.”
In court papers, Ms. Stern alleges the incident occurred at a Beverly Hills motel in March and began as a consensual sexual encounter.
“Tate began to verbally abuse Plaintiff as he usually did – but this time it became much worse, more aggressive and violent. Tate then began to choke Plaintiff [Stern],” the lawsuit states.
“Eventually, Plaintiff began to cry and beg him to stop. He did not stop. Tate continued to choke Plaintiff harder and harder, causing Plaintiff to nearly lose consciousness.”
Court documents say Tate, who also faces charges in Romania, allegedly repeatedly hit her in the head and face.
“At the same time, Tate repeatedly threatened her that if she ever became a hindrance to him, he would kill her,” the lawsuit states.
Ms Stern said she sought medical attention and was diagnosed with “post-concussion syndrome”.
She waited until he left the United States before filing a civil lawsuit.
Mr McBride told the BBC that Ms Stern's lawyer, Tony Buzbee, who represented victims who accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexual abuse, was “the lowest of the low”.
The lawsuit also details the alleged emotional abuse and harassment that began,
