“One of the things I’ve always loved about living in New York City is that I don’t need a car,” said R. Kikuo Johnson, the artist responsible for the March 31, 2025 issue. He was born in Maui, Hawaii, and currently resides in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn. Getting around the city, however, can vary greatly depending on your resources and circumstances. “However, since becoming a father, getting around the city has become increasingly difficult,” Johnson added. “My little girl is growing much faster than I can lift the stroller.”
