Walking around the city this spring, it’s impossible not to notice that many people seem to have succumbed to a shared anxiety. For the cover of the April 28, 2025, issue, cartoonist Adrian Tomyn tried to capture what he sees on his morning walks through Prospect Park. “I often find myself in the middle of off-leash hours near the Picnic Hut,” Tomyn noted. “Sometimes the carefree, unbridled joy of all those dogs is a wonderfully uplifting experience, and other times — especially lately — it fills me with an irrational combination of irritation and envy.”
