House prices in Ireland rose by an average of 7.5% year-on-year in April, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
Headline house price inflation was virtually unchanged from March's 7.6%, down slightly from February's 8%, the CSO said on Thursday.
The annual rate of price increase in Dublin, where the supply shortage is most acute, increased slightly, from 6% in March to 6.2% in April.
Outside Dublin, house prices increased by 8.6% in the 12 months to the end of April, according to the CSO, remaining virtually unchanged from March.
The median or average price of a home purchased during the period was €365,000, down slightly from €362,500 in the 12 months to March.
Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown remained the most expensive council area in the Republic, with the average price of homes sold at €670,000.
The most expensive postcode was the A94 in Blackrock, County Dublin, with an average price of €750,000.
