VIDEO OF THE DAY

According to a statement from the club on Facebook, the team was returning to Berekum after losing an away match against Samartex FC in Samrebo (0:1) in the Ghana Premier League when the team bus was attacked. Six armed men blocked the road and prevented the bus from continuing its journey. The driver tried to reverse, after which masked men opened fire on the bus with pistols and machine guns. The players and staff abandoned the bus and took refuge in nearby bushes. Unfortunately, Frimpong was shot in the head and later died of his injuries in hospital.

A video of Dominic Frimpong's last goal in his life, which he scored on March 22 against FC Karela United, has appeared on social media.

While police search for the attackers, the country's football association has already announced that it will tighten security measures at away matches to prevent such tragic events in the future.

By the way, this is far from the first such incident in Ghana. For example, three years ago, the Legon City team bus was attacked after an away match in Samrebo. Fortunately, no one was injured then.

Previously, “FACTS” reported that one of the victims of the shelling of a tourist bus in Egypt was a 34-year-old football coach.
