Meta is developing a new AI model Mango
Meta's head of artificial intelligence, Alexander Wang, spoke about the development of the model during an internal question and answer session, where he and Meta's chief product officer, Chris Cox, presented the company's updated development plan.
The launch of Mango is planned to coincide with the launch of a new major language model, Avocado, in the first half of 2026.
According to Wang, Meta intends to improve the text model for coding, as well as develop a new generation of AI models capable of understanding visual information, reasoning, planning, and acting without the need for training for each new task.
As The Tech Crunch notes, Meta has recently been lagging behind its competitors, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, in the development of artificial intelligence.
