Famous Ukrainian boxer who fought for a million in the final of a TV show has died (photo, video)

Famous Ukrainian boxer Bohdan Protsyshyn, who would have turned 38 on December 20, has passed away, the Boxing Federation of Ukraine reports. Earlier, the famous champion boxer Volodymyr Virchys passed away.

A native of Rivne region, Master of Sports Bohdan Protsishyn became famous thanks to his participation in the television show “You are the Champion” on the Ukraina channel in 2010. During the project, the middleweight confidently passed several stages (in particular, he won by knockout over one of his rivals), but in the final he lost to the more experienced David Tabatadze, who eventually became the winner with a prize of 1 million hryvnias.

After the end of the TV project, Bogdan began his professional career under the auspices of the promotion company Elite Boxing Promotion, participating in rating fights in Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine. In particular, in December 2011 in Zaporizhia he met with Russian Marat Kulumbegov, but lost by technical knockout in the first minute of the opening round. In total, Bogdan, nicknamed Mangust, held 22 fights in the promotion (8 wins, 3 of them by knockout, 14 losses).

Protsyshyn is survived by his wife and two sons.

Previously, “FACTS” reported that the famous Ukrainian boxer Vyacheslav Uzelkov died at the age of 45.
