Work is progressing on the Ultimate Fighting Championship Octagon on the White House South Lawn in anticipation of President Donald Trump’s scheduled matches this summer, intended to commemorate the United States’ 250th year.
The function, branded as "UFC Freedom Fights 250," is slated for June 14 — corresponding with the president’s day of birth and Flag Day — and will showcase a lightweight title confrontation between undisputed titleholder Ilia Topuria and interim title contender Justin Gaethje, in addition to four other clashes.
"Selected competitors" will receive monetary awards — with some funds originating from Crypto.com, according to UFC reports.

The framework — which will encircle and illuminate the arena for the combat, according to depictions released by UFC — is discernible from the White House North Lawn, towering above the landmark West Wing and Oval Office.
Trump has consistently publicized the recognition of the bout, stating at the congressional gathering earlier in the month that he had "never witnessed anyone desire something as intensely as people want those passes."

During an occasion held in the Oval Office, showcasing some of the fighters earlier in June, featuring Topuria and Gaethj, Trump proclaimed that tickets would be complimentary for attendees and that tens of thousands of individuals would have the opportunity to assemble on the South Lawn and adjacent areas to observe the function.
"Our nation is invited to this; it's without charge," Trump conveyed to journalists, asserting that the Ellipse could accommodate 75,000 to 100,000 enthusiasts beyond the primary platform on the South Lawn. "They're intending to install eight enormous screens, and they'll present the bout. And in this area, we're planning to have 4,000 seats immediately facing the front entry of the White House."
On Saturday, UFC disseminated fresh interpretations on social media illustrating the anticipated manifestation of the occasion. The images displayed an expansive fighting enclosure encompassed by stadium seating, alongside a synopsis of the "UFC Freedom 250 Fan Fest" within Ellipse Park.

In a declaration, White House representative Davis Ingle expressed that the undertaking "will stand as one of the most remarkable and memorable sporting occasions ever."
"President Trump’s decision to host it at the White House underscores his commitment to observing America’s significant 250th anniversary," he articulated.
