Microsoft has finally listened to years of user requests and brought back one of its most popular features to Windows 11. What's important to understand is the ability to change the location and width of the taskbar.

Main theses:

  • The usual “drag and drop” with the mouse, as it was before, no longer works.
  • Microsoft has also introduced other new improvements.

Windows 11 will pleasantly surprise users

As Windows Central reports, the aforementioned feature was present in all versions of Windows up to Windows 10, but it was removed from Windows 11 amid a total interface transformation.

Users decided not to hide their indignation, so Microsoft was forced to back down.

However, this time the update does not involve traditional “drag and drop” with the mouse – the position of the taskbar is set through system settings, where you can choose its location and interface behavior depending on the screen orientation.

What is important to understand is that this is part of a larger concept: Windows 11 is increasingly bringing back the customization capabilities that were in Windows 10 but disappeared after the system redesign in 2021.

In addition to simply restoring old features, Microsoft has also introduced new improvements. In particular, the update allows you to adjust the size of the Start menu and remove everything unnecessary from it: disabling unnecessary sections has been made much easier.
