The famous athlete Havelko, who served as a senior soldier at the Summer Sports Training and Sports Base of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, was the vice-champion of Europe-2019 in a team with Olympic champion Viktor Ruban, became the vice-champion of the world among juniors in individual competitions and a bronze medalist in the team, and also represented our country at the 2019 European Games in Minsk.
Yuriy Havelko was also a talented coach, helping the younger generation hone their skills in archery. In particular, as reported by Obozrevatel, he trained the daughter of the famous Ukrainian actor, comedian, and star of the VIP Ternopil team, Taras Stadnytsky.
“Tonight, Yura Havelka passed away very suddenly (which makes it even more painful). Yura was my Lyuba's archery coach,” Taras Stadnytskyi told the publication. “Lyuba can't be forced – it's really hard to motivate her to do anything. But he somehow knew how. He knew how to make the child go to classes five or even six times a week, and she was very worried when she missed classes without warning or for some urgent reason. “Write to Yura,” she would tell me. Because she knew that if she talked to him, he would somehow convince her to come.

Yurko, in everything, was “not for show”. He lived with children, he invested in them. Despite his service, he tried to find a window and run to the children for training. Despite everything, he organized field camps for them with games, activities and without phones. During their last trip to Cherkasy, since Lyuba was the youngest in the group, he wrote all the time how she was and what she was doing. Yurko, we will miss you very much.”

The cause of death of the famous athlete is not reported.
