The FBI has disclosed updated details regarding the mass shooting that occurred outside a bar in Austin, Texas, this past March, which resulted in three deaths. They concluded that the suspected perpetrator acted alone and possessed no affiliations with any Foreign Terrorist Organization.
"There is no indication of external guidance or radicalization; instead, the investigation suggests an intensification of aggressive behavior partially linked to particular personal catalysts and complaints concerning U.S. and Israeli military operations involving Iran, which culminated in an abrupt, forceful assault," according to a statement issued by the FBI.
According to officials, Ndiaga Diagne, a 53-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen born in Senegal, drove around the popular 6th Street area in Austin, Texas, during the early hours of March 1 before initiating gunfire toward individuals positioned outside the bar. Three individuals perished, and over a dozen sustained injuries.

Diagne died during an altercation with law enforcement personnel.
The shooting took place on the same weekend that the U.S. and Israel launched attacks on Iran, leading to the death of the country’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the initial moments of the conflict.
Initially, the FBI stated that they were examining terrorism as a potential reason behind the shooting.

"The investigation brought to light that Diagne held the recently deceased Iranian leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in high regard," the FBI press release stated. "At the time of the assault, Diagne was wearing clothing that included a t-shirt bearing an Iranian flag design and a sweatshirt with the words: "Property of Allah." While Diagne’s inclination toward Iran and the Ayatollah undoubtedly played a role in his decision to engage in violence, the FBI has not discovered conclusive evidence to clarify Diagne’s motivation or how and why he selected the location for his attack."
The FBI mentioned that they had representatives from 14 field offices and headquarters present at the shooting site — totaling more than 400 individuals, in conjunction with state and local law enforcement collaborators.
The FBI indicates they will continue to explore all possible avenues connected to the case.
