Brian Hooker recounted to officials that on the evening of April 4, subsequent to the pair’s departure from Hope Town aboard their small boat to return to their yacht, inclement weather precipitated Lynette Hooker’s fall from the dinghy into the water.
Brian Hooker was taken into custody on April 8 and interrogated by law enforcement. He was freed on April 13 without being formally accused.
On April 14, Brian Hooker communicated to ABC News that he was remaining in the Bahamas with the "singular aim" of locating his wife.
"My sole intention is to return to the boat and then enlist or implore individuals to aid me in exploring certain areas for the search," he expressed.
However, just hours following that discussion, Brian Hooker departed the Bahamas, with his legal representative stating his desire to be with his gravely ill mother.
Karli Aylesworth, Lynette Hooker's offspring and Brian Hooker's stepdaughter, has conveyed to ABC News her skepticism regarding Brian Hooker's narrative.
