The London giants have had a chance to win both the Premier League and the Champions League at times. After the draw in Madrid, Gunners fans were confident that Mikel Arteta's side, who have won five of their last six home games in the competition, could beat Atletico and set a new club record in the Champions League (a run of 14 matches without defeat).
But the first half at the Emirates was very cautious on both sides. Everything went dry until the break – without shots on goal and without yellow cards. But in the 45th minute, the first “shot” into the “frame” of the guests by Trossard led to a goal. Slovenian goalkeeper of Atletico Oblak parried the Belgian's shot, but Saka was the first to finish – 1:0.
In the second half, Madrid coach Diego Simeone, using substitutions, did everything possible to turn the tide of the match and reach the final for the fourth time in the club's history (the “mattresses” unsuccessfully fought for the trophy in 1974, 2014, and 2016), but Arsenal did not allow it.

The opponent of Mikel Arteta's team in the decisive Champions League match, which will take place on May 30 at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, will be determined on Wednesday, May 6, in the match Bayern – PSG (the Parisians defeated the Munich team at home – 5:4).
Recall that Arsenal played in the Champions League final only once 20 years ago, when they lost to Barcelona 1:2 at the Stade de France arena in the suburbs of Paris.
Previously, “FACTS” reported where and when to watch the live broadcast of the second leg of the Conference League semi-final between Crystal Palace and Shakhtar.
