According to a source in law enforcement, officers, including the FBI alongside federal and state organizations, carried out 22 court-ordered searches in Minneapolis this Tuesday.
A representative from the Justice Department conveyed to ABC News that the organizations were "engaged in judicially sanctioned law enforcement action as a component of a continuing inquiry into potential fraud."
Further entities, such as Homeland Security Investigations and IRS Criminal Investigation, also participated in the searches, based on updates shared through social media by these organizations.

"DHS will persist in its efforts to provide clarity to the American populace concerning the misuse of their tax contributions," stated a post on X from the Department of Homeland Security.
The prior administration has asserted the occurrence of fraud in Minnesota, dispatching federal agents for investigative work in December.
Close to 65 persons have entered guilty pleas or received convictions for involvement in an extensive illicit plot that exploited a pair of federally supported nutrition initiatives, allowing them to illegally acquire over $250 million in what DOJ has identified as one of the most substantial fraudulent schemes during the COVID era across the country.
The scheme made use of Feeding Our Future, a Minnesota-based nonprofit intended to deliver meals to children in need, in an effort to evade scrutiny from the Minnesota Department of Education, which held responsibility for program oversight.

In January, the previous administration placed a freeze on $10 billion in federal funding allocated to Minnesota and four other states governed by Democrats, citing accusations of deceitful child-care programs. Subsequently, a federal judge issued an injunction, preventing the administration from upholding the funding freeze.
That same month, Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz ceased his effort to be reelected, citing that he would be unable to fully dedicate his attention to a campaign while simultaneously striving to safeguard Minnesota from fraud accusations and attacks from right-wing entities, including those from the President.
Walz noted that Tuesday’s raids transpired as a result of integrated partnership between authorities at both the state and federal levels.
"Engaging in fraudulent activities in Minnesota will lead to apprehension — an outcome directly witnessed today," he affirmed. "The capture of criminals is facilitated through the sharing of intelligence among state and federal bodies. Collaborative investigations prove effective, and the pursuit of justice hinges upon such cooperation."
