One of the best forwards in the history of world football, three-time winner of the Golden Ball, 61-year-old Marco van Basten, who was once involved in a scandal with a Nazi salute, and his wife Lisbeth are being stalked by an unknown woman, reports Telegraaf.

According to media reports, neighbors of the football legend in one of the districts of Amsterdam found postcards in English with photos of van Basten's wife with her lover in their mailboxes. The woman, identified by Dutch police as Italian, writes that Lisbeth is “possessed by the devil” and that Mark needs to be “saved from these dark worlds.”
The legendary football player has already publicly denied these allegations, explaining that the woman in the photos is not his wife at all, and has filed a police report.
“This mentally ill woman believes she has a connection to heaven. He claims that my wife is possessed by the devil and that she is cheating on me. All these stories are bad for our children and me,” Marco van Basten complained in an interview with RTL Bulevar.

The situation was further complicated by the fact that at the beginning of the year it became known that van Basten's wife was seriously ill. In order to be near Lisbeth, Marco even resigned from his position as a commentator on the Ziggo Sport television channel.
We should add that former Milan and Netherlands national team forward, European champion Marco van Basten and Lisbeth van Kappeleven married in 1993. They have three children — daughters Rebecca and Deborah, as well as son Alexander.
