On Monday, President Donald Trump accepted two McDonald’s bags, delivered to the White House by "DoorDash Grandma," to champion his "no tax on tips" initiative.
"Does this appear authentic?" Trump quipped as he met his delivery driver, Sharon Simmons, just outside the Oval Office.
Simmons, wearing a red shirt emblazoned with "DoorDash Grandma," indicated that the order contained the president’s preferred items from the fast-food restaurant and conveyed her personal gratitude for the proposed law.
"It’s beneficial. It has greatly assisted my family, and I truly value it," she expressed.

DoorDash stated that the event marked the very first delivery within the White House, as per a declaration.
The White House reported that Trump distributed the cheeseburgers and fries to his personnel located in the West Wing.
When a reporter inquired whether the White House was generous with gratuities, the president reached into his pocket, retrieved a $100 bill, and gave it to her.

President Trump mentioned that Simmons’ husband, later identified as Leo, was currently fighting cancer and that the policy "helps considerably."
"He’s progressing well," Simmons stated, adding that her husband had written a book during his treatment. Trump then asked her to disclose the title to the press.
"He hasn’t released it yet, but it’s a book centered on humility," she noted.
Trump extended an invitation to the couple to attend the UFC fight scheduled to take place on the White House South Lawn later in the year as a part of events celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

At one juncture, Trump shifted to the subject of transgender athletes, pressing Simmons for her viewpoint as she repeatedly declined to comment.
"I truly don’t have a perspective on that," she responded.
"You don’t? I suspect you do," Trump remarked.
"No, no. My focus is on the elimination of taxes on tips," she clarified.
