On Sunday night, April 5, heavyweight legends converged in the ring of London's O2 Arena – 42-year-old Briton Derek Chisora (36 wins, 23 of them by knockout, 14 losses), who once caused a lot of problems for Oleksandr Usyk, and 40-year-old former WBC world champion American Deontay Wilder (45 wins, 43 of them by knockout, 4 losses, 1 draw).

In the farewell, 50th, fight of Chisora, who turned out to be 20 kg heavier than Wilder, the rivals gave a magnificent 12-round fight with three knockdowns (the Briton was on the ring twice, the American once). As a result, the winner was determined by a split decision of the judges: two servants of Themis gave preference to the boxer from the USA – 115:111, 115:113, and one – to the native of Zimbabwe – 115:112 (this is only the second victory on points in the career of the Bronze Bomber – the first was in 2015 in a duel with Bermane Stiverne).
By the way, according to Compubox's final punch statistics, Chisora beat Wilder in all major metrics. He landed more punches overall (143 vs. 125), was slightly more accurate with jabs (38 vs. 26), and landed slightly more power punches (105 vs. 99).
“I had a great time tonight,” Deontay Wilder said after the victory. “I had to recover, it took a long time, but I came back. I knew Derek was going to come in, I knew he was going to give it his all in his last fight. I told him that in the ring when I saw his eyes and temples swelling. I said, ‘Brother, you have to live for your kids, I don’t want to hurt you, I have too much love.’ So I started to enjoy the fight because I saw my brother suffer. That’s what boxing is all about. Too many lives have been lost in this ring. I took care of Derek tonight.”

Recall that Derek Chisora lost not only to Usyk during his career, but also to another Ukrainian – Vitali Klitschko in 2012. As for Wilder, all four of his professional losses came in his last seven fights, losing to Briton Tyson Fury (twice), Australian Joseph Parker, and Chinese Zhang Zhili.
Previously, “FACTS” reported that Chisora, with his face covered in blood, beat Grenadier Wallin.
