“Citadels of Wrath”: How the US and Israel Attack Iran with Bunker Bombs
On March 31, joint US and Israeli forces carried out a large-scale airstrike on Iran's military infrastructure, according to .
According to available information, the target of the attack was a protected ammunition depot in Isfahan, which they were trying to destroy as part of Operation Epic Fury.
The Allies used special “bunker bombs” weighing 900 kg to attack underground facilities. A US official confirmed that the strike used “a large volume of bunker munitions, or penetrating munitions”, to reach underground storage levels.
The reason for such a radical operation is said to be that Iran has moved about 540 kg of highly enriched uranium to an underground storage facility. This amount, according to the material, is enough to create ten nuclear weapons.

Special attention is paid to the most powerful weapon in the US arsenal — the Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP).
This giant bomb weighs over 13,600 kg and is capable of literally “drilling” through the ground. According to the technical specifications, it “penetrates approximately 200 feet (61 meters) below the surface before detonating.” To give you an idea of the scale, that's the height of a 20-story building buried underground.
Currently, the only aircraft capable of carrying such a monster is the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber. As noted, one such aircraft can drop two such bombs, which, thanks to GPS guidance, hit the target precisely.
The situation in the region remains extremely tense. According to available information, thousands of Marines and paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division have already arrived in the Middle East.
