Authorities have located a deceased individual during the ongoing search for an American Airlines flight attendant who had been reported as missing in Colombia, according to sources.
Eric Fernando Gutiérrez Molina arrived on March 21 on a flight originating from Miami to Medellin, Colombia, according to the Medellin security secretariat.
An unidentified corpse was discovered Friday afternoon in Jerico, in proximity to Puerto Iglesias, according to the Medellin security secretariat. Officials are awaiting the outcomes of a post-mortem examination to definitively identify the individual.
Gutiérrez Molina’s family has been informed, officials stated.

He was last observed in the early hours of Sunday morning after attending a party at a club situated in the El Poblado neighborhood of Medellín, accompanied by a man and a woman, as stated by the security secretariat.
Law enforcement personnel suspect he may have been administered drugs without his knowledge and are currently investigating this assertion.
“We are actively collaborating with local law enforcement agents in their inquiry and are committed to providing support to our team member’s family during this difficult period,” American Airlines conveyed in a statement on Thursday.
A State Department representative commented, “We are cognizant of these accounts and are closely monitoring the evolving situation.”
