A new man has appeared in the life of the famous Italian alpine skier, 35-year-old Federica Brignone, who became a two-time champion of the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan after a very serious injury, Blick reports, citing Italian media.

The athlete is having an affair with a former basketball player (he played in the 3rd and 4th Italian divisions before a serious injury) and now a model, 36-year-old James Mbaye, who was born in Senegal.
Despite the fact that Brignone carefully hides her personal life and even made her Instagram profile private, information about her new relationship is increasingly leaking to the press. In particular, it is reported that during the competition in Cortina, James, together with the skier's family, cheered on Brignone from the support zone or from the stands. During her victory in the giant slalom, he even wore a cap with a tiger image – the same design adorns the Italian woman's helmet. In addition, on Mbaye's Facebook page you can also see photos from the Italian city of La Salle, Brignone's hometown. Among them are shots from the advertising campaign during the filming of which James and Federica met.

We should add that Brignone's double triumph at the Olympic Games can be considered incredible, considering that in April last year the Italian suffered a fracture of the tibia and fibula, as well as a rupture of the cruciate ligament, and returned to the track only in January 2026 at the World Cup.
