Real Madrid sack Xabi Alonso and appoint World and European champion as head coach (photo)

The most successful football club in Europe, Real Madrid, which lost the previous day in the final of the Spanish Super Cup to Barcelona (2:3), officially announced the resignation of the team's head coach, 44-year-old Xabi Alonso.
