Anthony Joshua was involved in a fatal car accident in Nigeria (photos, video)

The famous British boxer, former world champion Anthony Joshua, who severely knocked out blogger Jake Paul on December 19, was involved in a serious car accident in Nigeria, The Ring reports.

The boxer, whose parents are from this African country, arrived in Nigeria after celebrating Christmas in the UK. The accident occurred in the capital of the country, Lagos. According to the Federal Road Safety Corps of Nigeria, the Lexus SUV, in which Joshua and four other people were, collided with a truck standing on the side of the road. According to preliminary data, the SUV was traveling at a speed exceeding the allowed limit and had an accident during an overtaking maneuver. Two people – the British Cena's trainers Gami and Robert Lutz – died at the scene.

Joshua, who was in the back seat, suffered minor injuries, although he was able to leave the car only with help. Anthony, who was trapped in the police car, was taken to hospital for medical examination and treatment.

Joshua, 36, was reportedly on his way home from Lagos to his family's home. The news of the accident came as a shock to his family. Just hours before the accident, the boxer had posted a video on social media of himself playing table tennis.
