Her Sport founder says Munster Camogie final postponement not in players' interests

The founder of Her Sport has said the decision to postpone Saturday's Munster Senior Camogie final is not in the best interests of the players.

Munster City Council decided on Friday evening to postpone today's game between Cork and Waterford after both sides confirmed they would play in shorts instead of kilts.

The Camogie Association plans to hold a Special Congress later this month to discuss proposals to resolve the ongoing kit disputes.

Niamh Tallon told Newstalk the delay could have consequences.

“As for the congress on May 22, will they wait to move the final to after the congress?

“At this stage we are, as you can imagine, just starting to prepare for the start of the group stage of the Irish Camogie Championship, so I'm not sure how much that is in the best interests of the teams and the players,” Ms Tallon said.
