Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho end drought with Manchester United win over Leicester

Rasmus Hjøjlund and Alejandro Garnacho ended their goal drought in Manchester United's comfortable 3-0 win over Leicester City, but the triumph was marred by a serious injury to youngster Aiden Haven.

He signed for Arsenal last month at 18 and impressed in his first competitive senior appearance on Thursday against Real Sociedad in the Europa League, including a fine first-half performance at the King Power Stadium.

However, his full Premier League debut ended in an unfortunate incident shortly after half-time, with the United centre-back being carried off on a stretcher after suffering a lengthy medical intervention after he suffered an injury that prevented Patson Daka from completing a pass.

Ruben Amorim hopes the injury is not as serious as it appears given how well he performed in the first half when Hjøjlund scored his first United goal after a 21-game wait.

Garnacho followed suit in the second half, ending his 24-match goalless run by opening the scoring after his earlier attempt was ruled out for offside.

Outstanding captain Bruno Fernandes scored a third late in the game as Ruud van Nistelrooy, who began the season as United's assistant manager and caretaker manager, suffered a 13th defeat in 14 league games.

Relegation is looming for the toothless Foxes, who are 19th and nine points adrift of safety, with the remaining fans in the stadium booing them.

Amorim's team controlled the game from the start, patiently creating chances and probing the opponent's defense.
