A fired-up Lewis Hamilton admits that his idea “at the world Championships” are only two races in the season in 2018 after falling 17 points behind Sebastian Vettel.
Vettel continued his perfect start to the campaign with victory in the Bahrain Grand Prix, giving Ferrari their first back to back victories at the start of the season since 2004.
Four-time world champion Hamilton recovered from ninth to third place in the wilderness, and although he insisted that he “honestly really happy” with his rostrum, he couldn’t help but think of the advantage of his title rival.

“My thoughts are already on the world championship,” Hamilton, who won a victory snatched out to Vettel in the season-opening Australian GP, told Sky F1. “I lost two races.”
Starting ninth on the grid because of five-place penalty, Hamilton survived contact with max Verstappen on two knees before executing a sublime triple overtaking on Esteban Windows, Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen.

He then took advantage of a failed pit-stop Kimi Raikkonen, but has never claimed to be something that could be important to win the race, but Vettel kept Valtteri Bottas in the lead Mercedes.
“It’s certainly not bad,” said Hamilton. “Get out of ninth and third, I am very pleased. It was a kind of damage limitation really.

“I was really just grateful that after the incident Verstappen] on the second lap that my car was broken, so I can continue. That was really hard.”
The Formula 1 season continues at a good pace, with the Chinese GP direct and exclusive for next weekend F1, and Hamilton is hoping he and Mercedes, can quickly recover.
“I’m 17 points after two races,” Hamilton, who overturned a 25-point advantage Vettel to take the title in 2017, Added.
“Obviously, [grid] penalty this weekend was difficult for all of us to swallow, but I think the team did a really good job.
“Hopefully, when we go to the next race we will have a better understanding of the tyres and I hope will be a better deal with Ferrari.”
