Rich BIM reviews in contrasting circles of reeds and McIlroy
The final round of the 2018 masters are expected showdown between Ryder Cup rivals Patrick reed and Rory McIlroy in the a few finalists, but it is not justified.
While Reid is celebrating a momentous victory. McIlroy was left to reflect on what could be as he gradually flew for 18 frustrating holes at Augusta national.
Here as a couple to resolve each hole Sunday:
Hole 1
RM: was skiing his way, broke through the trees into the front left bunker, splashed out to five feet, but a good par save there.
Rory McIlroy went to an adventurous start in the final round at augusta
PR: pulled the drive close to the pine tree to the left, struck the second in the front left bunker, thinned bunker escape, two putts for bogey
Hole 2
RM: the ideal drive straight down the tube, and long, followed a stunning second to four feet. The eagle putt was pushed wide, it’s a shame the bird in the end.
McIlroy makes a magnificent approach shot on the 2nd hole to prepare for the big chance eagle
PR: second shot found the left bunker, 30 metres from the pin, splash out on a good eight feet down the hill, but stopped at two-putt par.
Hole 3
RM: approach closed and spun back of the green, pitched to eight feet, the nominal shot drifts wide. A bad result from a great tee shot.
PR: Solid a second ago fringe, slippery putt just caught enough of the hole to fall to two-shot swing.
4 hole
RM: in the form of net 230 yard five-iron to three feet, and he finally got hit in the fall.
PR: Tee shot into the front of the green, the first stroke had left him five feet for par, but he’s not wrong.
Hole 5
RM: three trees caught the right edge of the fairway, the second comes up short. Well judged third to four feet, but another short punch in the target was not hit.
PR: disk flirted with the bunkers but safe, the right approach to the green and easy two-putt par.
Hole 6
RM: obviously not the desired contact from the tee and another iron will not work, but he got the ball uphill in six feet and rattled in the invaluable nominal impact.
PR: the Tee shot just missed a bunker in front of him, but his aggressive putt raced past the Cup and he couldn’t come back.
Hole 7
RM: disk merged right in the first cut and low-hanging branches of the tree hampered his swing, but he hit his second closer to the front edge, chipped to three feet and saved his par.
PR: pulled the drive in the first cut on the left, but the sublime approach is thrown in the opposite slope and slips into the active-range bird.
Reid is stepping up the pressure
Hole 8
RM: a huge hole! Blazed away in the trees on the right, a step back to the fairway, and the third is far from enough, make the chip raced seven feet in length and a par putt lips out. Ouch!
PR: the third is very Nice implemented birdie to go five, but he understood the punch to stay at 14 under.
Hole 9
RM: the channel found! And McIlroy took advantage of his large disk with a controlled Wedge to six feet. But another blow is pushed to the right and he turned in 37.
PR: a good drive, but the second path is short and the back of the green, from where he uses the contours to great effect its pitch to four feet. No mistake with the putt, 36.
Hole 10
RM: three trees is limited to the first mowing, but safe second found the green 30 feet right of the flag. Birdie putt four feet raving, but the return for for couples.
PR: arrow-straight drive, the second was right on line and found the green, about 15 feet. Birdie putt looked good but just ran out of PACE.
Hole 11
RM: a huge disk, but the second drifted right of the green in Larry Mays site. Awkward step to eight feet, and the return left all the way. Another chance wasted.
PR: the disc shone on the trees, but he found a way out and was lucky to avoid drinking. Good chip to four feet, but the par putt lips on the left edge.
Hole 12
RM: I pulled the kick sends a fringe, but a good lag putt to set up a tap-in par.
PR: long off the tee, but not so far gone as McIlroy and his birdie putt was perfect for the pace and distance like he’s back where he started the day 14 under.
Hole 13
RM: the disk is merged into the first mowing, but a towering iron from 190 yards into the green heart. Rory allowed too many to take on eagle kick from 20 meters, but the water in birdie.
PR: a good drive, but incorrectly hit the second thought goes to RAE Creek, although he caught a huge break, and his ball is inserted in the Bank. The field went six feet and birdie putt was six millimeters shorter!
Hole 14
RM: a good drive and solid approach to setting up you need to make birdie chance, but he grazes on the edge, and then missed the return of the four legs to slip out of sight.
PR: with Spieth and charged ahead, Reid was now in a share of the lead. But he jumped back to the top on their own after knocking a sweet approach to six feet and rattling in the BIP.
Hole 15
RM: pulled the drive is too far to the left and closed by the trees, forcing the passage. Safe third to the back of the green and two-putt for par.
PR: reed was also forced to lay up from the left edge of the fairway, and the third, confined to the green. But he did well to get down in two to stay ahead.
Hole 16
RM: the Tee shot was on a good line and rolled down the hill from the centre of the green to 12 feet, but the shot lacked conviction.
PR: a confident tee shot finds the correct level the green and install the bird a chance to give yourself two shot cushion, but he settled on the iron Board.
Hole 17
RM: another pushed drive flirted with the tree, but he managed to become the second green to create a two-putt par
PR: the fellow that found the left edge of the green in two after his drive was shifted to the right, but his first shot left him a knee-knocker for par. But he coped with the task, one shot lead down the last.
Hole 18
RM: a good drive stopped short of the fairway bunkers, but the second one leaked and found the front right edge of the green. McIlroy cut a disconsolate figure as he tapped in for par, to leave a clear stage for reed.
PR: no nerves here, as he blushed his trip, although no closer to catching the same branch of the tree in spieth. Reid knocked the second pin, but his birdie putt oozing an uncomfortable distance past the hole. But he held his nerve to nail the three feet to become the champion of the 2018 masters.
Patrick reed: 71 – 15 under par
Rory McIlroy: 74 – nine pairs
