The Republic of Ireland will face Belgium, Denmark and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Under-17 European Championship.
The draw for the 16-team tournament was held in the Park of St. George in the modern Staffordshire, with Wayne Rooney drawing balls with John Delaney, Chairman of the Committee of UEFA’s youth and Amateur football Committee.
Party Colin O’brien has been made in group C at the tournament, which will be held in England.
It starts may 4, but Ireland will have to wait until the next day to get their stage campaign when they take in Belgium.
The top two teams from each group will enter the quarter finals.
Ireland qualified for the tournament with a perfect record of six wins out of six and conceded just one goal.
Speaking on the outcome of the draw, Ireland coach Colin O’brien said: “We are delighted to be here, we knew that we were going to get stronger opponents, and that’s exactly how it happened. We know that our opponents and we can start planning and preparing for the start of the tournament within the next four weeks.
Spain won the championship last year, after beating world Cup England in a penalty shootout.
