Facebook revealed during the unfolding of the scandal that it divides people’s email address and phone number were aimed at “intruders”. While the company gathered the information to help people find their friends, just search for their number or email address, it appears that external forces were to extract this information from the Facebook page and save in local files.
“The attackers also abuse these features to scrape information of a General profile, presenting the phone numbers or email addresses that they’ve been through the search and restoration of account.
